In special fanilor lui Real Madrid.

Horia Tecau lider mondial in ATP Doubles "Race to London"

oria Tecau and Jean-Julien Rojer win the Wimbledon’s Gentlemen’s Doubles Final!

Britain’s Jamie Murray and Australian John Peers lose to Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau in the Wimbledon doubles final.

Jamie Murray was unable to restore family pride at Wimbledon when he and partner John Peers were beaten 7-6 (7/5), 6-4, 6-4 by Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau in the men’s doubles final on Saturday.

A day after brother Andy was defeated by Roger Federer in straight sets in the singles semi-finals, Jamie was unable to collect a second All England Club title to add to his 2007 mixed doubles triumph with Jelena Jankovic.

The Murray brothers will now turn their attention to next weekend’s Davis Cup when Great Britain host France in the quarter-finals.

Dupa trei finale consecutive la Londra, toate pierdute, Tecau a reusit in sfarsit sa castige marele trofeu.

  Tecau/ Rojer - Murray/ Peers 7-6, 6-4, 6-4

Gigi Becali naked - gol! :)

The owner of Steaua Football Club is ... a star for all romanians, not only for the supporters!

Visiting Constanta for Romanian Supercup Final, Steaua lost against ASA Targu Mures (0-1), because temperatures were very high seaside, Becali decided to go to the beach. First time in almost two years, during he was arrested.

How stepped on hot sand, Gigi Becali was immediately recognised by tourists who asked him to photograph with them. Naked, he never refused anyone! Gigi, was amused by Steaua fans and even promised free tickets for the game to a group of Canadians.

TOP 10 All Time Hottest Italian Soccer Players

In light of the upcoming Euro 2008 Championships in which Italy’s national soccer team is playing (and favored, at least by some, to win), I thought I’d introduce a lighter side of the sport for those of you who aren’t so terribly interested in the yellow cards or offside calls. I’m calling it: Italy’s hottest footballers.

Just so you know, I’m admitting right up front that this is a biased list. Your choice for #1 Italian soccer hottie might not have made my list, but that’s just it - it’s my list. Of course, your suggestions are welcome in the comments, because I’m also admitting that I haven’t seen every single Italian footballer so I might have missed someone who’s completely worthy of being included here.

At any rate, here are my picks for my top 10 hot Italian footballers (and that means it doesn’t matter who they play for, as long as they’re Italian). They’re not in any real order, except I’ve reserved my pick for #1 for last. The teams each guy plays for are in parentheses after his name. Oh, and there’s a special surprise treat at the bottom of this post. Well, it’s a treat for anyone who likes seeing beautiful men in their underwear, anyway. The rest of you might want to look away.
  • finiMichele Fini (Cagliari) - There’s something about Fini that makes me think every time I see him play, “He should be a model for Armani suits or something.” I don’t know what it is. It’s like I don’t expect him to be a footballer, I expect him to be a business man. No matter, he’s hot either way in my book.

  • pazziniGiampaolo Pazzini (Fiorentina) - Pazzini has this annoying habit of parting his hair down the middle for games (though perhaps it starts out kind of spiked in a faux-hawk like in this picture, I have no idea), but despite that slight personality flaw I still think he’s a hottie.

  • derosaGaetano De Rosa (Genoa) - Don’t even bring up that he was born in Germany, people, because according to his bio page on the Genoa website he’s an Italian national. And that (in addition to his good looks) is enough for me.

  • gattusoGennaro Gattuso (AC Milan) - While I do sometimes wonder how a man who looks so very hairy can have such a pristinely smooth chest, I still have a very soft spot in my heart for “Rino” (especially when his beard is trimmed properly so that it doesn’t look like it’s about to take over his face).

  • delpieroAlessandro Del Piero (Juventus) - Not only is he hot, Del Piero’s been a goal-scoring machine of late, so that’s an added bonus. I said goal-scoring machine, folks - he’s married. Sheesh.

  • tottiFrancesco Totti (Roma) - I hear that Totti is something of a household joke throughout Italy for reportedly not being very bright. There is, I’m told, a whole series of jokes where Totti is basically the punchline. However, when he’s on form he’s an absolute magician on the pitch. And of course he’s easy on the eyes, which doesn’t hurt. (This is an old picture - his hair is quite short now - but I think those pecs are pretty up-to-date.)

  • toniLuca Toni (Bayern Munich) - Toni left Fiorentina not long ago to play for a German team. He looks here like he’s wondering if we forgive him for leaving his Italian team, doesn’t he? Well, the answer, Luca, is - yes, yes we do. Wait, what was the question?

  • cannavaroFabio Cannavaro (Real Madrid) - Ummm, yeah. I’m just not sure anything more needs to be said here, which is good, because I’m kind of at a loss for words. The only thing I can think of to say is, “Throw in!”

  • maldiniPaolo Maldini (AC Milan) - Whatever the question is, Paolo, the answer is yes. A thousand times yes.

  • pirloAndrea Pirlo (AC Milan) - Pirlo is, without a doubt, my #1 Italian footballer hottie. I adore Pirlo so much that my husband has taken to saying, “your boyfriend is on” every time Pirlo appears onscreen during a televised Milan match. (Yes, I have a tolerant husband.) And now that I know D&G put out this calendar, I’m really annoyed that I didn’t pick up a copy while we were in Milan earlier this year!

So, you may have noticed that there’s an abundance of AC Milan players on the list, yes? Well, since I’m an AC Milan fan, I thought I’d give some love to my team. Also, since I watch more of their matches than other teams, I’m more familiar with the Milan players. Which is, again, why I say you’re welcome to send me your picks for who should be included on a list of the hottest Italian footballers. I may not agree with you, but in the end that’s a good thing - if we all drooled over the same few guys, that wouldn’t be very original. Besides, then only a few guys would be covered in drool. And that’d actually be kind of gross.

And now for your special treat - more Italian footballer hotness! See, after Italy won the 2006 World Cup in Germany, Dolce & Gabbana ran a series of ads using five of the Italian players as models. There’s nothing particularly noteworthy about that fact alone, as many footballers have relatively regular gigs as fashion models on the side. But these ads were noteworthy, as you’ll soon see. They featured three of the fellows I’ve got on my list above, and two others (consider that a bonus).

So, in case you missed these back in 2006, here they are in all their glory for you to enjoy.
dg1
Ooh, isn’t that sweet - showing off the Italian colors right after winning the World Cup! (Notice how Zambrotta and Blasi, clearly taller than the other three, have to stand with their feet further apart so they don’t tower over them. Or maybe they put Rino on a box.)

L-R: Andrea Pirlo, Fabio Cannavaro, Gennaro Gattuso, Gianluca Zambrotta (FC Barcelona), Manuele Blasi (Napoli)

Ooh! Ooh! After I posted this I found yet another in the D&G series. Yay me! Yay for you!

L-R: Gianluca Zambrotta (seated on floor), Fabio Cannavaro, Andrea Pirlo, Manuele Blasi, Gennaro Gattuso

And now for something a little more threatening, to ward of anyone who might think they could beat us in 2010, let’s go with black. My only issue with this picture is that Pirlo is shoved into the background. No one puts Pirlo in a corner!

L-R: Fabio Cannavaro, Gianluca Zambrotta, Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, Manuele Blasi

Ah, color! Lovely.

dg4
How does Gattuso always end up in the middle in these pictures?

L-R: Manuele Blasi, Fabio Cannavaro, Gennaro Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo, Gianluca Zambrotta
But wait, there’s more!

While hunting down those D&G shots, I found other Italian footballers who had performed similar skivvy-modeling duties for the fashion house. These names might not be as familiar to me, but what they’re selling certainly is.
dg5

L-R: Antonio di Natale (Udinese), David di Michele (Torino), Fabio Grosso (Olympique Lyonnais), Massimo Oddo (AC Milan), Marco Amelia (Livorno)
