Neymar did not participate on Monday's first training session in Barcelona with a view to their debut Thursday at the Club World Cup against Chinese champions Guangzhou.
The Brazilian has a groin discomfort from last week and is doubtful for the match for the semifinals.
Barcelona arrived Monday in Yokohama and was received by 226 children of school football in Tokyo to go out there in the Mitsuzawa stadium. The children sang the club anthem, "El Cant del Barca", to the astonishment of the players.
The European and Spanish champion, who has three consecutive draws between the Spanish league and the Champions League, will face an opponent led by Brazilian Luiz Felipe Scolari who does not lose the last 28 games and coming beat America 2-1 Mexico.
"It's been a long journey," said Sergio Busquets Barca wheel. "We are trying to adapt to the time change."
The flyer said that while everyone gives as favourite to Barca, "is not easy to win this tournament."
"All I could think of right now is in Guangzhou," said Busquets, whose team drew 2-2 on Saturday Deportivo La Coruna and was tied with Atletico Madrid at the top of the Spanish league, five points ahead of Real Madrid.
"It has Guangzhoiu Brazilian players and Scolari as coach, has not lost since a while. You have to try to be better and beat them," he said.
Barcelona won the Club World Cup in 2009 and 2011.
