Negotiations conducted by the group of Beckham to erect the stadium to over 20,000 spectators on at least three previous locations failed: first to the port of Miami, then facing the bay next to the American Airlines Arena where the Heat play, NBA and finally beside the Marlins stadium, the home team in the majors.
In the last, which was shuffling until last week, the group failed to convince Beckham to sell to owners of private buildings that should have been torn down to make room for the stadium.
Beckham ever wished that their stadium is in a central area of Miami, and his group assured Friday that the new place is "within walking distance of multiple public transportation options and the emerging district of Miami River," said the statement, reference to an area where luxury buildings and projects are built.
