Eurobasket 2017 will be multi-site in the group stage, as in 2015, and Finland, Israel , Romania and Turkey will be hosting the four groups of six in the first stage, playing in Istanbul finals.
The decision was agreed today in Munich (Germany) following the submission of applications and the subsequent vote. Eurobasket 2017 will be held from August 31 to September 17, 2017.
Spain , Lithuania , France, Serbia, Greece, Italy and Czech Rep. are classified as having been in the top seven positions last championship 2015.
Ukraine would host the Eurobasket 2017 after being withdrawn organization of 2015 due to the economic crisis and the war in which it is submerged, but in mid-June this year the Ukrainian authorities refused the organization of the tournament to keep the the circumstances facing the country.
Of the countries that had applied in whole or in part the organization of Eurobasket, only Poland has been left without a prize because, as was the case with the Eurobasket 2015, there were three options Request possible venue: organize the event ; a group of the initial group stage; or a group of the group stage and final stage.
