Argentinian Mauro Icardi silenced his critics with two goals and Inter took a tentative four-point lead at the top of the Italian Serie A, to crush Udinese 4-0 on Saturday.
Another Argentine scored in the day. A goal from Franco Vazquez helped crush Palermo 4-1 Frosinone.
Meanwhile, Bologna continued its upward trajectory under the orders of coach Roberto Donadoni, and secured a 1-0 win at Genoa, another relegation-threatened club.
The comparison between Sassuolo and Torino was delayed by thick fog.
Icardi and Stevan Jovetic took serious failures behind Udinese to give the "Nerazzurri" a 2-0 lead at intermission. Captain Rosario delayed intercepted a lousy service and eluded Bruno Fernandes Maurizio Domizzi before enfilarse in a duel to beat goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis.
Then he was Domizzi who gave the ball to Jovetic. The Montenegrin escaped and defined with a high touch before leaving Karnezis.
Icardi, who shared the tip on the table of the top scorers last season, had been criticized in this campaign, by those who felt that are out of shape. But at the meeting he wore tuned and opportunistic.

Inter took an advantage of four points over Fiorentina, Juventus visiting Sunday, the same day that Napoli, which is third, will host the Roma.
"Who will support tomorrow? That does not change anything, it's too soon," Mancini said. "All the teams will continue fighting for the title."
Bologna goalkeeper Antonio Mirante, made several important saves to preserve the victory, and Luca Rossettini scored the winning goal with a header in injury time.
Genoa ended with a man down for the expulsion of Diego Perotti 10 minutes from time.
Bologna has 13 points in six games since Donadoni arrives, and walked five points of the relegation zone.
Vazquez made the second goal in the triumph of Palermo, who also scored by Edoardo Goldaniga, Aleksandar Trajkovski and Alberto Gilardino. The goal of the honor of Frosinone, which is 18th in the league, was handled by Paolo Sammarco.
Palermo overtook Genoa, which now stands at the 17th step.
