Liverpool reported in a statement Saturday that the French international defender Mamadou Sakho has been provisionally after testing positive in a doping control section.
"Yesterday, Thursday 22 April 2016, the club received a formal notification of the UEFA who claimed they were investigating a possible violation of anti-doping law by Mamadou Sakho," she reported the English side in his letter.
"The player will respond to UEFA on the issue. The player is not suspended, but after talking with him, the club has decided that is not available to the coach until the end of this process," the statement continued.
Sakho, 26, who is in his third season at Liverpool following his move from Paris Saint-Germain, has played 34 games with the whole 'red' this season.
