"With 25 years he has beaten the world record in short-pool 400m medley and has 2 silvers and 1 bronze at the World Championships, 4 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze medals in European, 7 gold medals , 2 silver and 1 bronze at the World short Course Swimming and 9 gold medals and 2 silver at the European short Course "stands out from the Catalan swimmer.
"Although Rafa Nadal deserves also has something to Mireia not. Much more social recognition of their triumphs and glories achieved during his career is time to hand it to Mireia" abounds.
It also explains that "only two women in history have been flagged in the Olympic Summer Games, one of them the Infanta Cristina de Borbon, who championed the 1988 Games."
"Since 2004, he has not returned to be a Spanish flag bearer at the Olympic Summer Games and Mireia represents both these minority athletes who sacrifice and give both the Spanish Olympic sport", she explains.
