Corinthians has closed the sale of Alexandre Pato to Villarreal . The Spanish club will have to pay 3 million euros for the 26 - year - old who will try his luck in Europe, this time in Spain.
The operation is not official yet but former club president Andres Sanchez , who is still linked to the highest levels of the institution, confirmed that they had closed the deal. "No thought we were to sell it but it's done. The president will announce it soon , " he said.
Pato came to Corinthians for about 11 million euros in 2013 but various problems with the coach Tite and the board never got to play in the club and was given two years in Sao Pualo and the last six months at Chelsea .
