Spain must wait at Princess Sofia Trophy classification to search for Finn River

The Andalusian Pablo Guitian has been the best Spanish in the Finn Gold Cup which was held in Takapuna ( New Zealand ) at the end in 28th place overall, so that Spain still has not been able to qualify for class Rio 2016 Olympics.

 There were three Spanish sailors competing, Guitián, Alex Muscat and Victor Gorostegui, which were mainly intended to classify Spain for Rio, but have been unable to achieve and now just have one last place that will come into play at the Princess Sofia Trophy Iberostar in late March in the bay of Palma.

The challenge was complicated because in the Finn class classified were eleven countries ( Australia , Brazil , Croatia , Slovenia, United States , Britain, Denmark , Finland, France, Hungary and New Zealand). In Tapakuna only four of the fifteen countries fought for it were classified. Finally, the countries that have achieved Olympic Plaza are Sweden , the Netherlands, Greece and Estonia .

Catalan Alex Muscat closed their participation in the 36th and the Spaniard Victor Gorostegui in 54. It was expected that the entire fleet disputed one last race on the final day and then the Medal Race, but the little wind made only ten first contesting the Medal. The new global gold as it was before the last day, the British Gilles Scott, silver for the French Jonathan Lobert and bronze for the Slovenian Vasilj Zogard.

Moreover, the second day of the Paralympic Sailing World Championships held in Melbourne (Australia), with perfect conditions and with the celebration of the two races scheduled in all classes and places in Rio game.

In the 2.4mR class, the most numerous with 48 participating boats. Three of the four Spaniards are classified into a fist. Huelva Arturo Montes has stood as best Spanish in 17th after a 13-18. Just one place behind in 18th, two points is the Alicante Rafa Andarias made 11 and 24. In position 20 Cartagena Antonio Maestre made 26-28. And further Borja Seville Melgarejo is at position 34 overall. Is the first German Heiko Kroeger.

In Skud 18 boat skippered by Spaniard Sergio Roig and Violeta River they improved their participation with respect to the opening day with 7-12 which puts them in 12th place overall. Leading Australian Daniel Fitzgibbon and Liesl Tesch.

In Sonar, Paco Llobet / Hector Garcia / Manuel Gimeno is ranked 14th overall after a 11-54. Australia's first crew of Colin Harrison / Jonathan Harris / Russell Boaden.
