Serena Williams wins for the third time Laureus World Sportsman of the Year

The American tennis player Serena Williams, world number one and winner of 21 Grand Slam titles, including six Wimbledon, six Open of Australia and as many of the US , won the award for the third time Laureus Sport which was granted on Monday in Berlin.

Serena, 34, who won Roland Garros three times and four times-a single Olympic champion and three in doubles with her sister Venus, who also won the Laureus World Sports Awards in 2003 and in 2010, won his third statuette to be the most voted from a selection of athletes which also included the Ethiopian athlete Genzebe Dibaba, who won last year, and the Austrian skier Anna Fenninger.

The younger of the Williams sisters, who won the Laureus Best Return in 2007, also exceeded the vote to the Jamaican athlete Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and two other Americans, swimmer Katie Ledecky footballer and Carli Lloyd .
