Total production model Mazda 3 reached 5 million units in late April, twelve years and ten months after the carmaker comenzase to manufacture this model in mid 2003. It is the second vehicle of this firm reaches this figure, behind the Mazda Familia, manufactured between 1963 and 2003, better known as Mazda 323.
Since then, nearly 700,000 Mazda 3 cars have found their home in Europe. Currently they manufactured in Hofu plant in Japan, Mazda Changan Automobile Co Ltd in China, Autoalliance in Thailand, the Mazda Vehicle Operation Mexico, Malaysia and Vietnam.
Since it began to be marketed, has been resideñado to reduce user costs and improve their driving experience. The current generation, launched in 2013 under the five-door hatchback models and sedan four features SKYACTIV technology, which includes a lightweight, rigid body and an assessment of crash safety five-star Euro NCAP.
Regarding the mechanical supply Skyactiv uses a technology and provides a gasoline engine of 1.5 and 2.0; and turbo diesel engine 1.5 and 2.2. Its average fuel consumption of the 5.1 liters per 100 kilometers and has a six-speed manual transmission.
The model Mazda 3 was awarded last year as the 'best compact' reliability study by JD Power vehicle from Germany. He was also winner in the category of family cars in the annual awards of Scotland in 2014 and won first prize for the 'best price 2014' by the Canadian Automotive Jury. He was also one of three finalists in the awards 'World Car of the Year' and 'World Car Design' of that year and finalist for the 'European Car of the Year', also in 2014.
