France broke with "the curse of the local"

In the opening match of Euro 2016 , France beat, with right and thanks to the magic of Dimitri Payet , by 2-1 in Romania in Saint-Denis and thus broke with "the curse of the local" in the most important event to level teams in the old continent.

Since the opening match Euro plays host the whole and not the champion, there had never been a local triumph.

In 2004, Portugal lost to Greece 1-2 in the Estadio do Dragao Porto. Four years later , in Saint Jakob Park in Basel, Switzerland lost to Czech Republic 1-0 .

In Poland last year failed with Greece and drew 1-1 at the Stadion Narodowy. And now it was the turn of France who managed to impose on history thanks to a blockbuster Dimitri Payet after 90 minutes to make it 2-1 and keep the three starting points.
