Kohlschreiber withdrew with a broken foot

German tennis player Philipp Kohlschreiber withdrew from the Olympics in Rio because of a broken foot, confirmed Monday the German Tennis Federation.

Kohlschreiber, 32 , head serial number 13, had beaten the Argentine Guido Pella in three sets in the first round of the Olympic tournament and was scheduled to face the Slovakian Andrej Martin Monday.

"For a stress fracture in the foot, Philipp Kohlschreiber can not play his second round match at the Olympic Games," the federation said on Twitter.
