White hopes that Spain "has all the luck he deserves" in Rio

The president of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), Alejandro Blanco, hoped that the Spaniards have "all the luck they deserve" in Rio, where the margin of medals already achieved something very important by the number of classified and stressed that " Spain has sports icons in world sport".

"No I predict, that gives me very unlucky. We have many possibilities, the results are very good, people are very strong, in the ideal state before the Games, then the competition will qualify us, but we are the tenth country in the world in number of classified and fourth in Europe, "he said.

White recalled that for the first time in history such a strong team as Italy has less classifieds that Spain and number of teams, "except the host country are the United States , Australia , France and Spain".

"This data is already important to see the level of the team. Allow it stand out, because getting that a country of 44 million people is a huge honor. We are fortunate to have athletes who are icons of world sport plus (Rafael) Nadal. at this time in the sports world how important is the brand Spain, "he added.

COE president praised the way in which the Spanish sport has worked to get to Rio last four years, but insisted that "have 306 athletes is the best message for the Spanish satiety".

"They then go 15 or 20 medals well, but can not say. The flag now flies over the Villa, tomorrow we have another landmark event with the inauguration of the House of Spain and just missing the opening day and we have all the luck which deserve, "he added.

Asked about the facilities of the Olympic Village and complaints shown by some athletes to certain deficiencies in the installation, White argued that Spanish athletes are good and comfortable and that he has not received any complaint.

"It's one of the best villas in the whole story. There were issues that had to end and are ending. Maybe that haste to have it on time is what has annoyed a little the subject, but athletes are very good," he said.

Despite this, White said any athlete or a technician found "with a faucet that does not work, something usual when premieres a house."

"Think here are housed 16,000 people. There have been key failures and the problem is that they had not tested before, but in general people are delighted. The athletes are well, we have not received any complaints and generally people are happy, "he said.
