For this game Galatasaray coach Hamzaoglu will probably prefer to use one more defensive midfielder instead of Yasin at offensive/right wing position and Galatasarays system may turn to be a 4-3-2-1 Podolski and Sneijder supporting Burak Yilmaz at offensive midfield position .
Goalkeeper Muslera is out of form as Mert K mentioned above , he is having problems at long shots interestingly (tall goalkeepers including himself are usually much better in this positions, may have problem with his eyes)
All in all i also think this game is open to a disaster result for Galatasaray but what makes me uncomfortable here is everybody thinking in same direction !
Based on experience i will be waiting for live, we may have an unexpected surprise which is not possible to foresee,a referee who can spoil the party or a very strange coach decision ,can call it a just gut feeling ,saying me not to hurry!
GS's defence is just awful this season. Melo's departure is the key here. Add Chedjou's absence and you have a recipe for disaster. Muslera's form is worth mentioning too.
I think the mood in the dressing room of GS will be decisive. If Fatih Terim or another experienced manager was in charge I would expect GS to bounce back and at least fight back but Hamza Hamzao***287;lu is not the man for that. Simeone should teach him a lesson. Should Atletico win here, Trabzon game might be his last one. But that's another story.
Atletico scored 3 times against Sevilla though the scoreline is a bit misleading. I believe Atletico will surely score here. Question is, will they concede? Given the recent form of GS, I believe Atletico can keep it tight and manage to keep a clean sheet.
Galatasaray are making ridiculous defence errors all the time. Moreover, their midfield offers bad coverage for the defence line, and as a result, too much space opens between these two lines. To make matter worse, the top goal-keeper Muslera seems to be out of shape and in bad confidence at the moment.
When Atletico scores the first, it will be a matter of time to get the second and probably the third. We have seen this with Galatasaray at home in previous seasons of CL. Once they concede, they start to attack like headless chickens, and as a result, they concede more goals in the back of their net.
Possible starting lineups:
Galatasaray: Muslera – Adin, Balta, Chedjou, Sarioglu – Inan, Rodriguez – Podolski, Sneijder, Öztekin – Yilmaz. (4-2-3-1)
Missing players – Semih Kaya, Hamit Altintop.
Atletico Madrid: Oblak – Juanfran, Gimenez, Godin, Siqueira – O. Torres, Tiago, Gabi, Koke – Griezmann, Martinez. (4-4-2)
Missing players – Filipe Luis.
Referee: Szymon Marciniak from Poland.
